What’s better, manicure or extensions?

My friends and I are throwing a birthday party next week and were thinking of having one of those nails parties where you get a load of friends round for drinks and snacks as well as inviting a mobile nail technician around to do everyones manicures and stuff. I don’t know whether to have a straightforward manicure or have acrylics done or even gel nail extensions. It all depends in what is actually better for me I suppose, I have never had gel nails or acrylics for that matter, just had the basic manicure, Maybe even consider getting some nail art on my toes as well.
