The Age Old Advice About Insomnia Is Still True

The medical advice for an insomnia cure is sound for lots of people. Though there are exceptions, there are plenty of us that cause our own insomnia. Avoiding caffeine and other stimulants is a great beginning. Caffeine stays active for around 12 hours so that afternoon or early evening coffee or soda will keep you awake in the middle of the night. Not having a regular bedtime is another culprit. Trying to sleep at times your body is naturally wanting to be awake is another problem. I worked the midnight shift for seven years, and it almost killed me! Not having a comfortable bed and sleeping environment is another cause. Eight hours of sleep is one third of the day. Repeat that everyday and it is one third of a lifetime. Invest in comfortable sleeping stuff. That one third of your life spent sleeping makes the other two thirds much more enjoyable.
