As I continued my “26 Weeks to Freedom” project today by plowing through the first-rate training videos, manuals, and proprietary software featured at Commission Blueprint 2.0, I was aware of feeling both overwhelmed (yet again) and very excited at the same time. Overwhelmed because it is a challenge to learn and put all these pieces of the Internet Marketing puzzle together, and excited because I know that when I do master that challenge, I will be successful at this business because I will have learned it from the best of the best.
As I mentioned previously, this is not the first time I’ve gone through Steve Clayton and Tim Godfrey’s materials, and it will take several run-throughs before my mind can grasp the “big picture” and all of its elements to my satisfaction. (And because they like to “overdeliver”, Steve and Tim keep adding new innovative features to improve their product even more!) So I have to keep reminding myself to be patient and allow myself the necessary time it will take to learn all this.
Just to give you one example of the many “bells and whistles” you’ll find at Commission Blueprint 2.0, they have proprietary software called “HippoJaw” which allows you to easily add individual tracking ID codes to all your web pages, individual hyperlinks, keywords, and ads. With that information you can effectively manage your online campaigns on the basis of solid, very detailed data—-not by wishing and hoping! Let’s say you’re running several ads on Google AdWords and some are doing well while others are losers. With this kind of laser-focused tracking, you’ll know quickly which ones are not performing well—and why. That’s just one example of the many things “Hippo Jaw” does, and as I said, that program is just one of Steve and Tim’s many unique tools for mastering the Internet Marketing game.
Now, I know I’ve said this before….but this is yet another wake-up call for me to get organized! In this case, it is the organization required to learn this material by setting up a schedule for doing just that. And not just going through all of it three, four, or five times and taking a lot of notes (which I will inevitably need to do), but also putting it into practice as I go along. It would be easy for me to think that I should master all of it first (my typical way of thinking), and then start setting up websites, running Adwords ads, tracking my results, etc., etc. But it makes more sense to begin implementing these things as I go along, even if I don’t execute them perfectly (which, I can assure you, will not be the case!). That’s the most effective way for me to learn and retain this information and these skills—to learn by doing as I go along.
Of course, as you may recall from previous posts, I’ve already taken a stab at setting up a few impromptu web pages—and a few months ago I even tried a few Adwords ads (yes, they were losers:-) and that’s all good experience, but I have never really approached these things the right way from the beginning. I’ve always had the feeling that I was just trying to “wing it” without really understanding the ”big picture.” Maybe that’s because, as I’ve said, I was getting bombarded with so much specialty information and sales pitches from so many sources that I couldn’t “see the forest for the trees.” (OK, that’s enough cliches for one day…..)
Anyway, that’s what I like about Commission Blueprint 2.0 —it not only gives you the big picture, it also provides cutting-edge tools to master every part of it. And that includes one of their “spinoff” programs, SEM Business Blueprint, which I will specifically use to create my SEO/PPC management business for real estate agents and other entrepreneurs as I go along here.
